#3 - Pay to Play. Some social media platforms are now charging for extensive commercial use. Social media platforms want marketers to consider paid distribution 'to maximize delivery' of their messages. Many marketers now pay to have a post from their page appear higher in their audiences' news feeds. These are called boosted posts. All businesses should accept this change despite any misgivings because the platforms can be great marketing tools for relatively little and because fees are here to stay. In every other regard, the only constant in social media is change. To benefit fully from its use, small businesses must adjust to the ever-changing landscape.
