As an entrepreneur, you spend a lot of time with all those tedious tasks which are taking up a lot of your time. Valuable time that could be used to focus on your business. New research has revealed that many entrepreneurs are unable to focus on more creative or revenue-related tasks, due to the amount of time spent organizing their working days. This research also revealed that 60 per cent of those surveyed reported spending half of their day in the calls and meetings that they had spent so long setting up. Entrepreneurs and start-up business owners are inundated with work. Not only are they handling tasks that are vital to business development, but they’re constantly scheduling meetings, taking calls and catching up emails and admin. These time-consuming tasks can be terminal for the success of a start-up, with time-poor entrepreneurs requiring space away from the day to day tasks they face in order to plan ahead. It’s vital to the success of your business that you learn to hand off those things that you aren’t able to do well. I’m not saying that you should never try your hand at a new skill – entrepreneurs are usually insatiably curious but you need to learn to delegate so that you can focus on the big picture.
